Raised on the Southern Oregon Coast, now retired on the Southern Oregon Coast. I was a hard of hearing child who grew up to be a deafened adult. I share and write about deafness, hearing loss and other things I find interesting. I am a 50 something year old woman who could be anyone's mother, grandmother or friend. I've traveled the U.S., and I've lived in Europe. I'm currently residing near the beach with Fabulous Husband and 11 year old son. ~ Joyce Edmiston

"Different Perspectives" by Hearing Sparks
Hearing Sparks puts into words the process of how some of us choose which movies we will go to and why we don't go to others. She also included a portion about the "spoon theory" which elegantly describes what it is like to experience sensory loss. http://hearingsparks.blogspot.com/2011/08/different-perspectives.html

Thanks so much for linking to my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the bigger 'picture' most never look for it. So many things determine what film we will watch, and where, and how we will access it, we've 9 million to satisfy in the UK and the USA more. I just think more though should go into campaigns and awareness, instead of 'I want this..it's my right, or you are discriminating against us all.' Too black and white.
ReplyDeletewhen new technology becomes widely available it is already obsolete, we forever are chasing tails.....
You're welcome, Megan. :-)
ReplyDeleteMM, I agree, "more thought should to into campaigns and awareness" instead of all the "I wants" and "MY" rights and discrimination. As for technology, I love modern technology and all the amazing things that it enables us to do, even it does "entails" us chasing our tails. :-)
