My daughter had a boyfriend in high school that struggled with reading. After coming to our home and watching tv with subtitles, his reading improved dramatically within just 1 semester! My mother only recently started turning hers on, and she regrets waiting so long. We don't know what we can miss otherwise. Though I do have trouble with sarcasm. I can't tell the difference.Xpressive Handzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16002398180587845394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2199689129452310161.post-70685350202686878692011-07-29T05:53:09.269-04:002011-07-29T05:53:09.269-04:00I've got my TV set full time for titling, alwa...I've got my TV set full time for titling, always have done. I prefer subtitling to in-vision which can obscure action on screen. This is particularly useful with sport where I don't really need captions at all. Do NOT try captioning with SKY TV lol the 'ticker tape' text, the subtitling and the various other text on screen is an complete mess too MUCH information ! At various points could not even see the news item they were talking about.... we need intelligent text access, personally I'd prefer another 'box' below the TV showing captioning so the screen is clear...mervynjames224https://www.blogger.com/profile/06689615164654187617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2199689129452310161.post-6673653563733180992011-07-29T04:03:04.664-04:002011-07-29T04:03:04.664-04:00I always have mine on now since I was suggested to...I always have mine on now since I was suggested to try it a few years ago, and its never been off since. I was surprised by what I missed using them. And when I played a film on dvd for the third time, but this time with subtitles, a film I thought I got the story in a particular scene, I had not. But I had now for using subtitles.

I certainly recommend them. :)Lizhttp://l1zblog.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
